Victoria Huggins Peurifoy: Poetry/Spoken Words

Victoria Huggins Peurifoy is an Author, Poet, Spoken-word Artist, Storyteller, Ghost Writer, Consultant, Facilitator, Voice talent, Narrator, and Public Speaker. She is a member of White Rock Baptist Church. She is a twenty 28 year resident of the Germantown area of Philadelphia and is called, “The Axiom,” for she speaks the truth. She is a self published author with twelve books, three chapbooks and has two CD’s to her credit. Her latest book, A Blade of Grace, is an autobiography. Recently she has published her first children's book entitled Battery Man.
To complete her year, she also wrote a new book and CD entitled “Run between the Raindrops.” Victoria and her poetic partner co-authored a book of poetry entitled, Truth with Purpose. She is the facilitator for the Poetry and Discussion group at the Center in the Park and facilitates their story writing group for older adults called, The Best Day of My Life (so far).
This poet co- host a poetry event called Poetify-Poetry to Edify. In 2014, she was published in three anthologies: Moonstone Poetry, Poe Trees, and Seniors Rockin’ the Pen,. She has been featured by the Art Sanctuary, Pecolia Breedlove Tuesdays, Coffee After Dark, The Black Writer’s Museum’s Poetry Marathon, Moonstone Poetry of Philadelphia, The Mt Airy Arts Garage and Delaware University’s Upward Bound Program. Recently, she was featured in WHYY's online newspaper and subsequently was Interviewed by Exposure and G-Town Radio both of which are Online radio shows. Recently, she was one of the featured poets on Philly Cam’s panel discussion on Sonya Sanchez. Victoria is an active member of the White Rock Baptist Church. She sings on the Church Chapel Choir, is an Announcement Clerk, a Member of the Good Shepherd Circle, and is Secretary for the Malawi Missions. She is a widow and has four adult children and six grandchildren with two more on the way by the beginning of the year.
